ARM CORE SUPPORT FROM SIGNUM

Moorpark, CA – October 12, 2001 – Signum Systems announced today full emulation support for the ARM7®, ARM7TDMI®, ARM9TDMI® and ARM9E® cores.

The new JDSnet-ARM emulator connects to target boards via the standard JTAG connector and allows to debug embedded ARM core designs in real-time, regardless of the ARM clock speed. The small, desktop unit features serial (COM), parallel port (LPT) and LAN (Ethernet 10BaseT) connections to any Windows hosted PC. Being very portable and featuring extremely fast download speeds, the new JDSnet-ARM emulator/debugger will fill the growing need for a universal, low-cost development system.

Besides the fast download, JDSnet-ARM supports the latest Debug Communications Channel (DCC) feature, which allows real-time communication between the running ARM and host PC at up to 800 Kbytes/sec. JDSnet-ARM also supports the EmbeddedICE-RT® feature to allow user interrupts to be fully serviced after reaching a breakpoint. Enabling the interrupts during breakpoints allows targets controlling electromechanical devices, motors and servos to stay active during debugging without the fear of damage.

JDSnet-ARM is available with Signum Systems’ multi-core Chameleon Debugger, further enhancing the efficiency and quality with which developers can debug ARM, mixed-core (DSP, ARM) or SoC based embedded products. Unlike other tools, Chameleon Debugger supports all major C compilers (Red Hat, ARM, Texas Instruments, Green Hills Software, GNU) at the source level and features the latest software debugging and verification tools like: variable pop-ups in source window, hardware and software breakpoints, watch-points, flash programming, virtual I/O, statistical analysis, graphical complex breakpoint definitions, automated testing and virtual prototyping.

JDSnet-ARM and Chameleon Debugger for the ARM7 and ARM9 cores are available now. Prices start at $2,995. A complete development suite consisting of JDSnet-ARM, Chameleon Debugger and GNU C compiler is only $3,995.
