Moorpark, Calif. September 17, 1997 Signum Systems, a leading manufacturer of embedded system development tools, has announced full emulation support for Siemens C5xx family of microcontrollers. PODC5xx in combination with Signums USP-51 family In-Circuit Emulator (ICE) provides completely transparent emulation at clock speeds up to 42 MHz. The USP-51 ICE supports Intel, NXP (Philips), Dallas, Atmel, OKI, Matra and Siemens versions of the very popular 8-bit 8051 microcontroller family. With the new PODC5xx the emulator will be able to support the existing C501-C504, C509, C511, C513, C515, C517 microcontrollers as well as the new USB and CAN microcontrollers. The emulator is equipped with complex breakpoint logic, including event counters and sequencers. It also has a 32K sample deep, 80 bit wide real time trace buffer with time stamp and 128K RAM. The unit includes Windows based Chameleon-51 Debugger or DOS-based emulator interface software (EMU-51). Chameleon-51 debugger runs under Windows 3.1,
Windows 95 an Windows NT. It supports all popular C-51 compilers at the source level with
the latest advanced software debugging and verification tools like: variable Quick Watch,
Pass-points, Performance Analysis, Coverage Analysis, and Register Breakpoints.
Chameleon-51 supports remote debugging via IP-compatible networks. Remote debugging allows
any Chameleon session to be accessed over the network using a standard telnet client for
co-debugging and customer support. USP-51 is available now starting at for $3,995. PODC5xx will be available in November 1997 with prices starting at $995.
