JTAGjeDaVinci emulator

JTAGjet-DaVinci

Multi-Debugger Support for the Texas Instruments DaVinci Digital Signal Processor Family

Camarillo, Calif. – Apr 30, 2007 – Today Signum Systems has announced the first of its kind, multi-debugger support for the Texas Instruments DaVinci Digital Signal Processors (DSP).

The just released JTAGjet-DaVinci emulator is the first emulator of its kind to offer a simultaneous debugging in multi-core systems using two different debuggers.

With the proliferation of multi-core devices that mix the ARM cores with the power of number crunching DSP processors, it is not unusual for the system designers to use two different Real-time Operating Systems (RTOS) on the same silicon, like the TI DaVinci Digital Media Processor family.

Being able to use the native debugger that comes with RTOS allows the designer to be more productive doing task-aware debugging of complex, real-time applications.

Designers can now use the JTAGjet-DaVinci with Code Composer Studio for debugging the DSP code, while at the same time they can use any ARM RDI-compliant debugger (RealView, eBinder and others) to debug the ARM side of the application.

The new JTAGjet-DaVinci emulator is compatible with Code Composer Studio 3.3 debugger suite and all popular ARM debuggers. In addition, the package includes Signum’s own Chameleon debugger and a flash programming utility.

JTAGjet-DaVinci is equipped with a USB 2.0 high-speed port for connection to any notebook or workstation PC to provide download speeds of up to 1MBytes/sec.

Availability JTAGjet-DaVinci with multi-debug feature is available now for the Texas Instruments DaVinci and OMAP families.
