Signum Systems Announces USB 2.0 JTAG Emulator for TI’s DSPs, ARM and OMAP™ Platform Devices
SPEEDY USB 2.0 JTAGJET COMPATIBLE WITH MANY DEBUGGERS & COMPILERS
Moorpark, CA
– June 02, 2003 – Signum Systems Corp. today announced the USB 2.0 high-speed interface tool for JTAG based ARM, Texas Instrument’s (TI) TMS320™ family of DSPs and OMAP™ platform embedded designs.
JTAGjet-USB emulator uses the USB 2.0 High-Speed mode to achieve the maximum 480-Mbps transfer rates to shorten the application download times. For convenience, JTAGjet-USB is also down compatible with the slower USB 1.1 ports.
JTAGjet-USB comes with a free Chameleon Debugger for ARM and drivers for eight other third-party debuggers as well as Signum Systems TMS320C5000™, TMS320C2000™ and C33 DSP debugger. This gives the software developers a wide choice in selecting the debugger and real-time operating system (RTOS) that fits the application the best.
Currently JTAGjet supports compilers and debuggers from Texas Instruments (Code Composer Studio™ 2.2),
ARM Ltd. (ADS and AXD), Mentor Graphics (XRAY), Palm Software (PUD), Green Hills (Multi-2000),
IAR (EWARM), TASKING (CrossView), Signum Systems (Chameleon) and
GNU (GDB & others).
JTAGjet is targeted specifically for design teams and software contractors that need the high-speed operation and require one universal hardware tool with greater portability and wide choice of software development tools.
JTAGjet features full target control during power and reset cycles and is ideal for bringing-up new hardware as it incorporates core power and reset monitoring, programmable JTAG clock speeds (1 kHz to 33 MHz), automated test scripts and CPU initialization macros for many target platforms.
Chameleon Debugger for TI’s DSPs, OMAP platform and ARM devices features compatibility with a wide range of C compilers, powerful and intuitive user interface, Graphical Event Triggering System, software and hardware breakpoints, drag-and-drop variables, C and ASM level fly-over variable pop-ups and hundreds of other debugging shortcuts.
New hardware registers or peripherals, which are common to every ASIC may be easily added by using a register window template or by using a plain text file and displayed in the register window with all relevant information, including bit names, bit fields and descriptions.
A complete, integrated debug system consisting of the JTAGjet-USB and Chameleon Debugger for ARM is
attractively priced for the cost-conscious
customer. For further information call Signum Systems at (800) 838-8012, email sales@signum.com or visit www.signum.com.
